This week’s subject is Prescribed Information
Element 7.1.2: Management Systems
Systems are in place to manage risk and enable the effective management and operation of a quality service.
Section 172 of the Education and Care Services National Law Act and regulation 173 of the Education and Care Services National Regulations stipulate the prescribed information that services must have on display in a location that is clearly visible and accessible to families. Services must ensure that this information is kept current and updated when required.
The approved provider must ensure the following is displayed and kept up to date:
- Approved provider’s information: name, approval number and any conditions of the provider approval
- Service approval details: Service name, service approval number and any conditions of the service approval
- Nominated supervisor information: name of each Nominated supervisor
- Service’s current ratings: in each quality area and the service’s overall rating
- Service waivers: the NQS element/s and/or Regulations that have been waived, the duration of the waiver and the type of waiver; temporary or service
- Service information: hours and days of operation
- Complaints & feedback should be addressed to: name and contact number
- Responsible person at any given time: name and position
- Educational Leader: name
- Regulatory Authority Information: contact details
- Child/ren diagnosed at risk of anaphylaxis: a notice stating a child who has been diagnosed as at risk of anaphylaxis is enrolled at the service (if applicable)
- Occurrence of an infectious disease at the service: a notice stating that there has been an occurrence of an infectious disease at the service premises
In addition to the prescribed information stipulated in section 172 of the law and regulation 173 of the National Regulations, services must also ensure that the following are displayed:
- The educational program: in a location accessible to parents of children being educated and cared for r75
- The weekly menu (if applicable): in a location accessible to parents of children being educated and cared for r80
- Emergency evacuation procedure and floor plans: in a prominent position near each exit at the service r97

Within System7 go to Quality Area 7/Module 16 to submit self-assessment notes and if required, open a QIP issue if you identify any areas of improvement. You can upload photo documentation into your self-assessment notes to show evidence of your prescribed information being displayed.
